Let me paint you a picture of pure chaos. It was Saturday, and media class was supposed to end at 1:50 pm. But because of some school event, I was left with the impossible task of sending Sir my film opening literally minutes after class. Let's be realistic - my phone storage is basically nonexistent, the school internet works about as reliably as my alarm clock on Monday mornings, and my heart was doing gymnastics every time I thought about hitting "send."
I had put EVERYTHING into this project because, hello, I literally left a whole group for this and worked day and night to make it as perfect as humanly possible (or at least close enough that people wouldn't question my life choices).
So there I was, sitting with my friends when my best friend hit me with: "Arij, what did Sir say about the video?" I gave her what can only be described as a death stare (sorry not sorry) and she immediately got it. "So you STILL haven't sent it?" she asked. After my mumbled confirmation, she just grabbed my phone and said, "I'll send it for you." And she did! (Meanwhile, I was reciting Ayatul Kursi because at that point, divine intervention seemed necessary.)
After that whole ordeal, I spent the next two hours checking my phone every 120 seconds to see if Sir replied. Yes, I had notifications on, but WHAT IF they weren't working? What if the universe was conspiring against me? When Sir didn't reply, I did what any reasonable person would do – I took a nap. Woke up around 6 pm to find that Sir HAD replied... with one whole line. Amazing. Very informative. Much feedback.
Fast forward two days, and Sir asks in class: "Arij, have you started thinking about your film opening?"
Me: "Sir, me???"
Sir: "Yes, Arij??"
Cue my awkward laugh that probably made everyone question my sanity. Turns out, we had to make the ACTUAL film opening NOW. The whole time I thought this was something for summer holidays, but surprise! It was due basically yesterday.
I had made two videos for the preliminary task just hoping Sir would like at least one of them. When I messaged to ask which one he preferred, he said he liked the Wake-Up Sid one more. So that's what I went with!!
Moral of the story: pay attention in class and do things before the last minute instead of having a panic attack when deadlines come crashing down. Revolutionary advice, I know.
Now, stay tuned for how I actually came up with my first real idea for the final film opening...
